INDICADORES MÚLTIPLOS DE SUSTENTABILIDADE: BARREIRAS, MOTIVADORES E DESAFIOS PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO HUMANO

Com o crescente número de indicadores que são elaborados e publicados, há uma força sobre eles que definem quais sobrevivem, ou seja, a seleção natural dos indicadores. Desta forma, o objetivo deste estudo é realizar uma revisão sistemática da literatura, para identificar quais são as barreiras aos indicadores múltiplos de sustentabilidade, bem como seus motivadores e desafios. Observou-se que a falta de acordo persiste em um importante debate científico sobre as dimensões da sustentabilidade. Apesar da falta de consenso, julga-se importante cada estudo definir as dimensões da sustentabilidade conforme seu contexto, o que é corroborado pela diversidade de áreas que podem envolver a construção de indicadores múltiplos de sustentabilidade. Destaca-se como barreiras, as institucionais, políticas e a complexidade dos fenômenos que envolvem a sustentabilidade. Entretanto, como motivadores os indicadores auxiliam na implementação de políticas sustentáveis e melhoram a gestão pública para o desenvolvimento humano. O grande desafio dos indicadores múltiplos de sustentabilidade é ser adaptado ao nível local e evitar a sua subjetividade.
