Abstract

Digital transformation can today be considered a new technological paradigm and has become a strategic element on the agenda of industrial organizations. This research work aimed to analyze the digital transformation process in a small footwear industry, from the perspective of technological paradigms. Through a case study in a small footwear industry, in the southern region of Brazil, a qualitative approach was used, with data collection through in-depth interviews, systematic participant observation and documentary survey. The results found demonstrate that the process of digital transformation in the footwear industry is in the process of developing the initial and incremental phases, from the perspective of a traditional industry that sporadically changes its technological paradigms. Furthermore, digital transformation means reformulating culture, processes and organizational structure through the use of digital technologies, to maintain and grow in the market in the face of constant changes and increased competition.
