Dialogism as Technology in Socio-environmental Projects Management

Abstract

Immersed in an unprecedented crisis with multiple dimensions, the humanity faces the challenge of radically transforming its ways of interacting to each other and to the environment, risking extinction. Thus, the resolution of socio-environmental issues becomes a vital axis to create a possible future for the planet. However, research on socio-environmental project management is still recent and poorly consolidated. Consequently, the practice of managing this type of project still faces a number of interactional issues, often failing to address the multiple interests of all actors involved in their contexts of ongoing conflicts. The goal of this research is to propose dialogism as a technology of management for socio-environmental projects. The research methodology is based on a conceptual and theoretical review that integrates the field of dialogism with that of the management of socio-environmental projects, as well as multiple case studies. The research results open new ways to rethink about how to theorize and practice the management of socio-environmental projects from the perspective of dialogism.
