The literature on sustainability risks in supply chains has advanced, but gaps remain in understanding their occurrence and the influence of cultural, institutional, and organizational complexity factors. This study investigates how these aspects impact the perception of sustainability risks in Brazilian companies with formally structured sustainability departments (N=152). Through descriptive analyses, relationships between organizational culture, institutional pressures, and supply chain complexity with the perception of internal and external risks are identified. The results highlight the importance of coercive and mimetic pressures and the role of organizational culture in shaping risk interpretation. In addition to providing insights for strategic sustainability management, this study contributes to SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by reinforcing the need for sustainable practices and innovation in supply chains.
